This is the sneakiest philosophy textbook ever written — it's disguised as a young adult novel and it WORKS. Gaarder takes you from Socrates to Sartre through the eyes of a curious teenager, and suddenly you've learned more philosophy than most college students. The meta-fictional twist halfway through blew Jim's tiny mind. If you've always been curious about philosophy but didn't know where to start, START HERE. Four worms — delightfully clever.
