Piranesi's house is no ordinary building. Its rooms are infinite, its corridors endless, its walls lined with thousands of statues. Within it are an ocean, clouds, and tides. Piranesi lives there, cataloguing its wonders. But when messages begin to appear, he must unravel the mystery of who he is and how he came to be there.

Jim's Review

🐛
This book is like burrowing into a dream you never want to wake up from. Susanna Clarke built an impossible, gorgeous labyrinth and Jim wandered its halls completely spellbound. Piranesi himself is so pure and earnest that Jim's worm heart nearly burst. It's short, strange, and utterly unforgettable. Jim finished it in one sitting and immediately wanted to read it again. A rare, magical gem.
