Jim doesn't usually get starstruck, but Michelle Obama could make even a humble bookworm feel inspired to dig deeper. Her writing is warm and unpretentious — you feel like she's talking directly to you over coffee. The chapters about her childhood and finding her identity are especially powerful. Jim burrowed through this in two sittings and immediately wanted to become a better worm. The audiobook, narrated by Obama herself, is particularly outstanding.
